Planning makes
sense! For the same reasons you write a will, make retirement
plans, or buy life insurance, people feel that it is a good idea
to plan for the future and make their funeral plans... before
they are needed. Having served many area families, we realize
how difficult it can be after the loss of a loved one, it is an
emotional and stressful time when it is hard to think clearly.
Pre-arrangement is a practical gesture because it allows you to
make unhurried, informed decisions that you and your family can
share in planning together. This thoughtful preparation offers
expression of one's own personal wishes, gives peace of mind and
can relieve the financial burden on family members. Pre-planning
can be as simple or complex as you want to make it. One can discuss
everything from casket selection, musical selections and payment
options; or just leave statistical information and instructions
with us.
After discussing
your situation and wishes with us, together we can create a plan
that best meets your individual needs. There are two different
options for financing your plan. Homesteaders Life Company, Forethought
Life Company and National Prearrangement Services offer different
options for funeral insurance. Trust accounts are also offered
and funded by local banks and can be set up by any of our funeral
directors. A service can be paid in full, or it can be broken
down into several payments.
When you fund
your funeral service in advance you have the opportunity to pay
for a future service at today's costs. This means that you are
guaranteed that the cost of the service you plan today, will never
increase, regardless of future costs. Your money is safe in whatever
plan you choose, it is entirely trusted in a bank or deposited
with the insurance company.
Another advantage
of preplanning and prefunding your funeral service is the Guaranteed
Child or Grandchild Protection Plan. This plan offers funeral
expense coverage to grandchildren or children of individuals that
have prefunded a funeral plan with Fremont Funeral Chapel. We
offer this coverage to any child or grandchild 21 years of age
or younger. We will provide services and merchandise equal to
those described in the contract at no charge to any one (1) deceased
child or grandchild for every prefunded funeral contract that
is owned. The Guaranteed Child or Grandchild Protection Plan is
another incentive to preplan and prefund your funeral; it gives
you the peace of mind that your wishes will be honored and that
if anything would ever happen to a child or grandchild that you
would have automatic coverage for them as well.
There is also
an unexpected benefit that comes from preplanning your funeral.
Preplanning allows the subject of death to be acknowledged and
discussed in a practical manner. Mental health is never achieved
by denial of death. By discussing the practical matters of funeral
arrangements we allow ourselves to frankly acknowledge that death
is a reality of life. This acknowledgment helps us come to terms
with our fears. We are freed to treasure every day we have and
live life to its fullest. Think carefully about what will be best
for you and your family and discuss why you want certain arrangements.
Allow your family to have input into your service as well. They
will be the ones that are celebrating your life. By doing so,
they have a healthy outlet for their grief and anxiety. Giving
them the privilege of performing a last act of recognition, honor,
and respect will speak beautifully to all.
