December 13, 2008 at Fremont Funeral Chapel Funeral Service: 1:30 O'Clock P.M. at Graveside Service December 13, 2008 at Ollie Cemetery Interment: Ollie Cemetery, Ollie, Iowa Virginia Lucinda Schultz was born September 30, 1932, in Washington County to the late Henry and Lucy Cavin Ash Mills. Her step-father was Jess Mills. She was united in marriage to Harold William Schultz on August 19, 1951, at the Ollie Baptist Church. Together they lived and farmed in the Ollie area for their entire lives. Her interests included gardening and yard work, but her great love was her family. Virginia loved to cook and her holiday meals were very special for everyone, from her homemade oatmeal buns and pies to the pudding in the cloud. She would prepare a favorite dish for everyone. She was always available to lend a hand and help her children and grandchildren in any way possible. She will be greatly missed. Virginia will be remembered for her devoted loyalty to the Pekin football team where she could be found in her “reserved” seat on the 50 yard line halfway up the bleachers. She attended every game in which her grandchildren participated for sixteen years. Virginia is survived by her son Gary (Cheryl), daughter, Cathy (David) Silvers, a sister Susannah G. (Frank) Estes, a half-brother, Jack (Peggy) Mills, sisters-in-law, Patricia (Larry) Ellis, Allenor Selck, a step-brother, Jess (Patricia) Mills, a step-sister, Vera Trourtwine, seven grandchildren, Jeremy (Lori) Schultz, Jared (Jerilynn) Schultz, Justin and Jason Schultz, Jim (Jill) Silvers, Latisha (Chuck) Yeoman, and Michael (Shaughnessy) Silvers, four great-grandchildren, twins Arron and Ian Silvers, Katelynn Schultz, and Conner Yeoman, and three step-great-grandchildren, Ceaira, Dustin, and Jaydon Yeoman, as well as many nieces and nephews. Virginia was preceded in death by her husband Harold in 1998, her parents, her step-father, a half brother, Wilbur Selck, and a step-sister Betty Mills. Memorials may be made in Virginia’s name to the Pekin Community Schools’ Dollars for Scholars, the Ollie Fire Department, or the Keokuk County Hospice. Arrangements are entrusted to the Fremont Funeral Chapel.
