Roy S. "Bud" Christofferson

February 13, 2004 at Fremont Funeral Chapel. Pastor Dennis Ellenberger of the Church Of God Of Prophecy, Ottumwa, Iowa officiating. Interment: Cremation to follow service with interment of ashes at a later date. Roy S. "Bud" Christofferson, age 66, of Hedrick died Monday, February 9th, 2004 at the Ottumwa Regional Health Center. He was born November 30, 1937 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Otto and Louise Meyers Christofferson. He was raised and educated in the Burlington, Iowa area. He served in the U.S. Army. Upon completing his tour in the service he was united in marriage to Ellyn Keever on July 6th, 1961 in Burlington. After his marriage he was employed his entire life as a tree topper. He retired in 1996. Roy is survived by his wife; Ellyn of Hedrick, two daughters; Audrey (Dave) Kirkhart of Ottumwa, and Rhonda Christofferson of Hedrick, sons; Carl (Crystal) Christofferson of Wayland, and Roy Christofferson, Jr. of Hedrick, three sisters; Delilah Bloomer and Jody Christofferson both of Burlington, and Dixie Christofferson of Gladstone, Ill., a brother; John Christofferson of Oquaka, Ill. Ten grandchildren; Stephanie (Andy) Conger, Travis (Whitney) Ehrman, Trisha (Sven) Dahlstrom, Jason Ehrman, Katrina, Jamey Tonya, Jessica Brandon, and Tasha Christofferson, and three great-grandchildren; Noah Conger, Tucker Ehrman and Makenzie Dahlstrom, three step-grandchidlren; Denita and Ray Skinner and Josh Ehrman. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters; Stella Judd and Bridget Christofferson, and three brothers; Chris and Ed Christofferson and Harry Brockett. His hobbies included fishing, camping, boating, motorcycling, wood working, playing Nintendo, and cards. He was a member of the Southern Baptist Church in Burlington.
